“New year, new me,” right?
Although we are inundated by that phrase in our personal lives, there are three impactful resolutions that can have relevance in your professional environment.
Be a teacher.
Did you know that the best way to learn is to teach? Researchers have found that while teaching, people tend to put more effort into understanding, have a better time remembering and turn basic information into applicable knowledge.
Write it all down.
Use paper! Yes, paper. In this digital era, there is part of your brain that isn’t utilized by typing. Whenever you are planning your next meeting or project, start with the good ol’ notepad.
Easy as 1-2-3.
As Antoine de Saint-Exupéry says, “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” The best way to accomplish a goal is to answer three easy questions (Hint: this is a good chance to try out the paper thing):
- Why am I doing this?
- What is the desired outcome?
- How will I get there?
Now that you have the tools, ring it in with resolutions worth working for!
